It was reported by Cousteau that GPOs are capable of generating force approaching 10x their body weight. Given that the average GPO weighs over 30 lbs, and documented specimens have weighed above 150lbs, it is not surprising that this encounter (this and the following 5 images) left the photographer with a battle-scarred camera and a newfound respect for the GPO.
